Installing and Uninstalling

Installing and uninstalling of the Licensing Tool is done fully automated using a setup provided by labCognition.

Installing from USB-Stick​

Please follow the instructions below to install the Licensing Tool:

  1. Connect the USB-Stick to your computer

    The Setup does not start automatically!If the setup does not start automatically, you might have disabled the Autorun function in your Windows Operating System. In this case do the following:.

    Open a Windows Explorer

    Click the USB-stick drive letter in the Windows Explorer to start the setup.

  2. The setup program starts.

  3. Follow the steps in the installation wizard and click the Next Button to proceed accordingly.

After completion of the installation you will find a new shortcut icon on you Windows Desktop, which looks like this:

A new program group has been created in your Windows Start menu as well. It is named "LabCognition". It also contains a shortcut to start the program.

Installing from a Downloaded ZIP-Archive​

The Licensing Tool can also be provided by email. In this case a ZIP archive is attached to the email or a download link is provided in an email. Please follow the steps below to do an installation:

  1. Detach/Download the ZIP archive from your email into a temporary folder on your hard disc.

  2. Open a Windows Explorer and navigate to that temporary folder.

  3. Double click the ZIP archive with the Left Mouse Button.

  4. Extract all files to the temporary folder. This creates a new sub-folder named "LicensingTool".

  5. Open the folder named "LicensingTool".

  6. Double click the Setup.exe file with the Left Mouse Button to start installation.

Uninstalling​

This program needs to be uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel.

  1. Click the Windows Start Menu on your Windows Desktop.

  2. Click the Settings Sub-Menu.

  3. Click Apps

  4. In the command list on the left click Apps & Features

  5. In the list of installed apps on the right side find the Licensing Tool entry and click the Uninstall Button on the right.
