Dark Spectrum Measurement
Before starting any measurement or routine analysis, at least once a day, the dark signal needs to be measured in order to correct all recorded data for the dark signal which is output from the amplifier when there is no light.
In order to obtain reliable results for your analysis it is recommended to measure a dark signal before you start a sequence of measurements belonging to an experiment.
The procedure is described in more detail in the following:
-
Make sure the sample compartment is empty.
-
Close sample compartment.
-
From the Instrument menu, select the command Dark or click the button from the instrument panel.
A Dark spectrum can be saved optionally, refer to the Parameter Editor for further details. After the dark signal measurement is completed, you are ready to record spectra. Please refer to the chapter "Spectrum Measurement" for details.
