New library settings dialog
Libraries contain any analytical data and related information. Data is categorized by the data type of the objects inserted into a library. In order to increase search speed later on, data types can be fixed to pre-defined properties. Incoming data will be adapted to these properties automatically.
Create library dialog contents
This dialog is used to adjust settings for a new local library. The following dialog is opened:
General library settings
General settings apply to the location and name of a library on your local hard disc.
File
The full path and file name plus extension of the library file must be entered into the text field. By default a file name similar to "C:\.Libraries\NewLibrary.library" is proposed.
The default path for libraries is personalized to the current operating system user. It is located in the "My Documents" folder of the current user.
If you do not like to enter a path and file name, you are free to use the path selection button to the right of the text field to navigate to an appropriate place.
Name
This is meant to be the displayed name of the library in the library explorer. It will be synchronized with the file name automatically.
Description
A description for the library can be entered optionally. The description should contain a brief summary of the contents of the library. It will be displayed as tool tip help on the library node in the library explorer.
Copyright
The author of a library is free to enter a copyright notification for copy protected libraries. The copyright notice will be displayed, whenever data from the protected library is shown in the software or data is printed.
Data settings in a library
Each incoming data object can either be inserted into a library as it is or it can be adapted to some user defined parameters given below. Setting the imported spectra to a fixed resolution will speed up searching later on, but data will be modified for this purpose on upload and original data is lost.
Fixed IR spectrum resolution
Incoming spectral data of the type IR spectrum will be converted into an equidistant data object with a user defined fixed resolution. The resolution can be selected either from the drop down box or a user defined value can be entered.
The unit is converted into wave numbers [1/cm] automatically.
Fixed UV spectrum resolution
Incoming spectral data of the type UV spectrum will be converted into an equidistant data object with a user defined fixed resolution. The resolution can be either selected from the drop down box or a user defined value can be entered.
The unit is converted into wavelength [nm] automatically.
