Reference Measurement
Before measuring a sample, you need to measure a reference spectrum in order to correct for stray light and other impurities within the measurement compartment or accessory.
The software will prompt you to perform a reference measurement automatically if required.
-
Setup the measurement parameters (see Spectrum Measurement).
-
Remove any sample from the compartment.
-
Click the **Reference-**button in the Instrument Tab or select the command Measure Reference in the Instrument Menu.
-
After completion of the reference measurement, the reference spectrum will be automatically saved to the \username\My Documents\HorizonMB Data\Reference folder.
The current reference spectrum will automatically be listed in the "Reference File" parameter in the Acquisition parameter section.
The instrument provides several spectral resolutions. For each available resolution a separate reference measurement is required. In case of changing the resolution you may need to measure a fresh reference or choose one from disc. However, the last used reference for the active resolution is selected automatically if available.
